Group A paper
The ratio of length to width is square root of 2:1.
The most commonly used paper size is A4, which is 297 by 210 mm.

The paper is therefore 841 mm wide and 1189 mm long (the ratio of length to length is √2:1) and is numbered A0.

The paper is therefore 1000mm wide and 1414mm long (with an aspect ratio of √2:1) and is numbered B0.
If the long side of B0 paper cut into two, then get two pieces of B1 paper, its width and length are 707 mm and 1000 mm.

Compared with Series A, the paper area of Series B is √2 times the same size as Series A. For example, B4 is √2 times the size of A4.

Group C paper
The size is the geometric average of A and B sheets of paper with the same number.
The formulation of The C series is based on the geometric averaging of the dimensions of the A series and the B series.
For example, the paper size of C4 is the geometric average of A4 and B4, and the length-to-width ratio of paper is still √2:1.
So C4 is somewhere between A4 and B4, and A4 paper can fit into C4 envelope-bags, while C4 paper can fit into B4 envelope-bags.
