For just one day next month, over 550 limited edition music releases will hit the shelves of independent music shops in support of Record Store Day.

The full list of releases, which you can salivate over below, will be making their way exclusively into independent record shops across the UK on Saturday, April 22.

The event is partnering with BBC Music for the second time this year; and t o mark its tenth birthday, organisers have enlisted for the first time five official UK champions: Slaves, Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre), Kate Tempest, Kate Nash and Izzy Bizu.

More than 25,000 music fans are expected to descend on music shops for this year's Record Store Day. The idea was conceived nine years ago in the America with the aim of bringing together hundreds of independent record shops to celebrate their unique culture. A list of this year's participating shops in the UK can be found here.

Below is a look at some of our favourite one-off releases on this year's list: 

Bastille - Comfort Of Strangers 

The band are release a double A-side 7" (white coloured vinyl!) single for this year's RSD. The A side is the unreleased song Comfort Of Strangers, while B side is the unreleased acoustic live version of Warmth - a song which features on their latest album Wild World.

Dolly Parton - Puppy Love

One of Dolly's earliest recordings is being given a limited edition release on 7". Originally put out in 1959 by Gold Band Recordings, the new release will be available in packaging that is "as true to the original as we could make it".  The B-side is a song called Girl Left Alone, written by Parton, her Aunt Dorothy Jo Owens, and her Uncle Bill Owens.  

Madonna - Dance Mix EP

Previously only released in South America, Madonna's Dance Mix EP, which features Into The Groove, Angel, Material Girl and Holiday, is being re-released on 12" black vinyl. 

Of the three special Bowie releases for this year's RSD, this reproduction of one of his earliest promos is exciting us most. It's a Single sided 12" LP featuring Bowie’s 7 tracks from the original promo with reproduced Kraftpack envelope, 5 Bowie prints and - wait for it - tissue paper wrapping. Nice!

Aqua - Barbie Girl/Aquarium

RSD isn't all rock n' roll: Danish-Norwegian group Aqua are releasing their million-selling debut single Barbie Girl on pink vinyl(!), and their first album Aquarium on vinyl for the first time. Because why not, right?
