The MCR 72 and MCR 92 are two new additions to the renowned Modular Compact Rheometer (MCR) series offered by Anton Paar. MCR 72 and MCR 92 provide easy and rapid rheological measurements, and they are both suitable for daily use in laboratories. The affordably priced models can be conveniently used in a plug and play fashion.
The MCR 72 has a ball-bearing motor, providing measurements typically in a rotational mode. It also provides measurements in the oscillatory mode for special applications. The MCR 92 is equipped with an air-bearing motor technology and yields measurements in both oscillation and rotation modes. Easy and efficient usage is guaranteed by the step-by-step software and unique features, like Toolmaster™ for automatic tool recognition and configuration, QuickConnect to allow the measuring system to be mounted in a rapid and easy manner, and TruRay for integrated light.
The main features of MCR 72 and MCR 92 include:
The MCR 92 has an air-bearing motor suitable for sensitive samples and the MCR 72 is available with a sturdy ball-bearing motor, which does not require compressed air. Both of these models allow measurements to be taken in the oscillatory and rotational modes. The preferred model can be selected based on the application requirements. Users can opt for the MCR 72 model if they need to examine the flow behavior and deformation of their samples. This examination can be carried out even at varied temperatures. The MCR 92 can be used to observe the sample structure. Both of the models have a motor, which automatically elevates the measuring head to set an accurate measuring gap that is 100% reproducible. Both of the rheometers can be provided with temperature devices to cover a range from -40°C up to 400°C.
TruRay plays a vital role in the MCR 72 and the MCR 92. TruRay lights the measurement surface and can be gradually adjusted for a clear view of the sample. When changing between measuring systems, QuickConnect ensures convenient and rapid system changes without a screwing mechanism, and allows one-handed connection of the measuring systems. Toolmaster™ then helps to automatically identify the temperature units and the mounted tool. Finally, the SafeGap feature guarantees that the setting of the measuring gap is identical for all measurements and accurately reproducible every time.
The RheoCompass™ software helps users to find the required test template, customize tests and analysis definitions, export data, and produce reports. Users are provided with pre-designed templates that are individually adaptable, and with integrated pictures and videos that guide them through their initial rheological measurements. It is also possible to open different accounts for every single operator working in the laboratory.
Anton Paar’s rheometers are the outcome of 25 years of experience, provided in one motor. The air-bearing-supported synchronous EC motor utilizes the rotor’s frictionless synchronous movement to deliver accurate and sensitive movements. Users obtain precise results across a wide viscosity range when examining low-viscosity liquids or solids.
Anton Paar’s global service network ensures experts are provided with round-the-clock system support. Anton Paar is considered the first choice to answer any rheological questions, due to the successful installation of thousands of instruments across the world, extensive application database, e-learning courses, website containing lots of practical information (World of Rheology), published works by Anton Paar’s rheology experts, and the book “Applied Rheology – With Joe Flow on Rheology Road”.
For academic use, both instruments are available as an EDU Edition, including a special EDU package for teaching staff as well as EDU Student Packages for free. Get your special academic discount on the two new members of the renowned Modular Compact Rheometer (MCR) series and even more.
