Scandinavian Enviro Systems AB has submitted an application for a construction permit through the property owner, Fratera, for the planned recycling plant in Uddevalla, Sweden.

The construction permit application pertains to the previously announced recycling plant that Enviro plans to establish on an industrial site in the Lillesjö district of Uddevalla Municipality. The application follows the environmental permit for the planned facility, which was granted to Enviro in June of this year, and which was also previously announced by the company. The facility will have the capacity to process up to 60,000 tonnes of end-of-life tyres per year, which would suffice for the recycling of half of Sweden’s total annual volume of end-of-life tyres.

There are always tyre amnesties,...

TSA CEO Lina Goodman says, “the Northern Territory’s unique...

Tyre Wear Particles as a Resource

Tyre wear is inevitable, but could the wear particles be scavenged for reuse, a report on Nature.com suggests this could be the case Tyre wear particles are a long-standing problem that the tyre industry has been seeking a solution for. The small particles erode from tyres in use and they get deposited, largely, at the roadside in ditches and verges and drains. There is an argument that they get washed into the oceans, but some evidence suggests that this is not the case as the airborne particles tend to get...
