Myra Gertrude Livingston, 98, passed peacefully from earthly to eternal life on July 7, 2022, at Providence Point retirement community where she resided. Myra was born on June 15, 1924, in Akron, Ohio, daughter of Robert and Tressie Harrison. She graduated from Augusta High School as salutatorian and worked as a secretary with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and the Air Force Procurement Office before beginning her career as a real estate agent in Barberton, Ohio. An accomplished organist and pianist, she first played the piano publicly when she was six years old. From that time on, she accompanied numerous soloists, choirs, groups, and church congregations. Myra shared her love of Christ and music with many, including her children, two of whom followed in her footsteps as church organists in addition to full-time jobs in other fields. Myra was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Akron and was a member and past president of the Women's Auxiliary Akron District Society of Professional Engineers. Myra was married for 49 years to Earl Myron Livingston, who preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Eva, and brothers Lawrence and Stanley. She is survived by sons Rod (Carol) and Jeff (Lorraine); daughter Julie; granddaughter Sharon (David) Austin; grandson Matthew; and great-grandsons Jack and David Austin. A memorial service celebrating Myra's life will be held at Beverly Heights Presbyterian Church, 1207 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA, 15228, at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14. Lunch will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to GROW Living Stones, a Christian, nonprofit organization that has been feeding the hungry in the South Hills of Pittsburgh since 2012.
